Secretary-General of the Muslim World League Meets with UN Secretary-General

Riyadh:

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, met in Riyadh with His Excellency Mr. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, on the sidelines of the 11th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.

During the meeting, a number of topics were discussed, most notably the importance of continuing to strengthen friendship and cooperation among nations and peoples.

His Excellency the Secretary-General of the United Nations was briefed on the Muslim World League’s efforts in this regard, particularly through its purposeful and constructive dialogues around the world with diverse communities. He commended the MWL’s initiatives and programs that advance the concept of preventive peace.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Al-Issa expressed his gratitude—on behalf of the Islamic peoples under the umbrella of the MWL—for the honorable positions of His Excellency the UN Secretary-General regarding just causes that he has addressed with responsibility and courage, particularly the tragedy of Gaza and the Palestinian cause in general.
