The MWL Signs a Cooperation Agreement between the Second Largest and Most Important International Museum: The Uffizi Gallery

The Muslim World League has signed a cooperation agreement with the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy, one of the oldest and most famous art institutions in Europe. Millions of people from all over the world visit the Gallery, which is the second museum in world rankings after the Louvre.
His Excellency the Secretary-General, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Bin Abdulkarim Alissa signed the agreement on behalf of the Rabita, while the Gallery was represented by its director Dr. Eike Schmidt.
The agreement seeks to implement educational and cultural initiatives of the Islamic civilization and support initiatives aimed at developing education, training and promoting intercultural dialogue.
The agreement also aims at presenting the Arab and Islamic cultures in a correct manner. Furthermore, both parties seek to organize seminars and training courses in coordination with the institutes and research centers of the world through this agreement, in addition to the important role played by museums in promoting cultural exchange and educational activities.
Dr. Schmidt emphasized the Gallery's insightful understanding of the prominence of the cultural exchange project with the Muslim World League, stressing the museum’s keenness to organize joint initiatives with the Rabita to achieve the purposes of both parties.
It is noteworthy to mention, that the Gallery was founded in 1560, and holds a great number of famous works.
