His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa honoured the winners of the World Elite Reciters of the Ten Qira’at Competition
His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, honored the winners of the World Elite Reciters of the Ten Qira’at Competition at the largest Quranic celebration in Africa. This event was also honoured by the significant participation of memorizers of the Holy Quran who are versed in the ten Qira’at and accredited worldwide, and was attended by important African scholars.
This is the first competition worldwide where memorizers demonstrate mastery in reciting the Holy Quran using both the ten minor and major Qira’at, notable for its objectives in preserving these Qira’at. Participants are divided into two categories: those competing in the ten major Qira’at and those in the ten minor Qira’at. African Muslims have expressed their gratitude to the Muslim World League for this initiative.
Through this competition, the Muslim World League has achieved several key objectives; introducing the various Qur'anic recitations; encouraging memorizers to delve into the study of Qira’at sciences; fostering a competitive spirit among memorizers, and motivating, honoring, and nurturing them. Additionally, it aims to impart the moral teachings of the Holy Quran and prepare an empowered, distinguished generation of Quran memorizers.
