Latest NewsGranada:
In an unprecedented event in the modern history of the Alhambra Palace, a Muslim figure was officially hosted for the first time. H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, delivered a lecture at the Alhambra Palace in Granada entitled: “Experiences and Perspectives on the Diplomacy of Dialogue to Mitigate the Risks of Conflict and Division Among Nations and Peoples after the Charter of the United Nations.” The event was attended by the Chairman of the Friends of Alhambra Palace Foundation, a Member of the Spanish Senate representing Granada, and a group of academics, intellectuals, and other distinguished guests.
In his lecture, H.E. underscored the pivotal role of dialogue in preventing conflict and division among nations and peoples, affirming that dialogue constitutes an essential foundation in addressing global issues, as it represents the civilized method of exchange.
Dr. Al-Issa also discussed the nature and essence of dialogue, as well as the characteristics required for serious dialogue to achieve its objectives. He noted that effective dialogue marks the beginning of “preventive peace,” which shields the world from wars and destruction. Therefore, it is not merely a preferred option, but rather the sole refuge where the world’s wise minds converge. In other words, it is the art of engaging with others in a manner that transforms misunderstandings and competing interests into an environment of shared principles grounded in tolerance and mutual understanding. Hence, conflicts do not arise from differing positions and opinions, but from estrangement, which ultimately leads to anxiety and the spread of false narratives.
A discussion with H.E. followed the lecture, addressing several related topics.
