Excerpts from the address of His Eminence Dr. Shawki Allam, The Grand Mufti of Egypt

Supporting Saudi Arabia is an obligation on Muslims; both as Arabs and followers of Islam, the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said: "The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever"

The barrage of negative events and hardship have inspired the scholars, thinkers and researchers to discuss ways for the Ummah to break free from the seditions and conspiracies its facing. However, the Umaah is hopeful and its outlook is positive, taking comfort in the promises of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

The danger lurks not in the differences alone, as long as they are a result of diligent reasoning and consideration. However, the real danger is in the phenomenon of exclusion, labelling others as Kafir and expressing hatred towards them.

We must learn from the true Fiqh of Disagreement, and safe guard the Ummah from those who have created a rift among Muslims and weakened their determination.

The absence of a scientific methodology among the misleading groups, as well as their deviation from the very purpose of knowledge and Sharia is what leads to crisis and problems.

Call on the thinkers and intellectuals to channel their energies and initiate programs to counter the threats facing the Ummah.
