The Secretary General of the MWL meets the Pakistani Minister of Religious Affairs

His Excellency Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, President of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, from the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, inaugurated the urgent campaign of the MWL for the relief of the Pakistani people. The campaign aims to secure the food, shelter and health needs of tens of thousands of people affected by the floods, in a number of Pakistani provinces.
At Islamabad-based presidential premises, Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif, received His Excellency Secretary-General Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa who day before yesterday, at the head of a high-ranking delegation from the Muslim World League to Pakistan. Dr. Al-Issa tour includes a number of flood-stricken cities and villages. He also meets the Pakistani leadership and senior officials along with delivers Friday Prayer sermon in a mosque.
President Shahbaz Sharif warmly welcomed the Secretary-General and the accompanying delegation, highly appreciating the delegations of the MWL in this difficult circumstance that his country is going through as a result of the disastrous floods. Shahbaz Sharif also commended Dr. Al-Issa's great and sincere efforts in spreading the culture of tolerance, peace and love, which reflects the true image of Islam.
Shahbaz Sharif added: “I proudly follow up on your sincere efforts to establish the religious harmony and we thank you for your great role in bringing together the scholars of the Islamic nation and highlighting the true image of Islam."
For his part, Dr. Al-Issa expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President for the generous reception and hospitality of Pakistan and its honorable people. He affirmed: “The MWL, from one hand, is always proud of performing its sacred role towards brothers as the believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body and on the other hand, our role comes within the framework of the MWL’s comprehensive humanitarian work, which makes its contributions to everyone at the world level."
In the context of his visit to Pakistan, Dr. Al-Issa, at his residence in the Pakistani capital, met Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony and Grand Mufti, Abdul Shakur Sardar Khan. They discussed a number of Islamic issues and humanitarian work in the region, and the prospects for bilateral cooperation in this regard.
The Minister Abdul Shakur Sardar Khan stressed the important role that the Muslim World League plays in serving Islamic causes and the issues of Muslim minorities around the world along with the centrality of MWL’s efforts to promote unity within the Islamic community. Abdul Shakur also said that we are proud of the leadership of the Muslim World League in the "legal affairs" of the Islamic nation, praising in the same regard the historic step of the Makkah Charter as well as the key presence of the MWL around the world. He described this role as strong, influential and honorable for the members of the Islamic Ummah. He also highlighted in detail the true image of our Islamic religion that calls for harmony and peace, saying that the MWL sought to raise awareness among the members of the Islamic nation through activities and programs that we can only appreciate and commend.
