Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, received yesterday morning, at the office of the Prime Minister in New Delhi, the MWL Secretary-General, Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, his Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa.
During the meeting, a number of issues were reviewed, including India's cultural diversity within the framework of the civilized principles of its national constitution.
Following this meeting, the Indian Islamic Cultural Center celebrated the visit of the MWL delegation to the Republic of India. Within the framework of this celebration, the MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Al-Issa, gave a lecture which was witnessed by senior Islamic religious leaders in India, including muftis, scholars and religious leaders of various Indian intellectual diversity.
During the lecture, His Eminence addressed important milestones of the Islamic values, reviewing multiple models of the civilizational Islamic progress, indicating that the Islamic values called for building bridges of understanding and peace among civilizations, in order to enhance friendship and cooperation among nations and peoples. He stressed that a Muslim's faith leads him to comprehend the wisdom of the Almighty Allah, Glory be to Him, as regards human diversity. Unlike the theories and concepts of ignorance, pessimism and extremism, this diversity does not mean fearing from the other, keeping distance from him, hating him, or insulting him.
Al-Issa said that the Muslim community in India is proud of its patriotism, its state institutions, and its belonging to the Indian nation, stressing the need for religious awareness to be a tool for promoting understanding, coexistence, and cooperation with mutual appreciation and love.
