The awareness of youth forms the cornerstone of peace and development, underscoring the importance of initiatives that protect them from extremist and violent ideologies.
H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa , Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, launched 28 initiatives with their implementation mechanisms in February 2020 (Jumada Al-Thani 1444 AH), with the support and hosting of the United Nations at its European headquarters in Geneva.
These initiatives embody the Muslim World League’s belief in the pivotal role of youth in building global peace and ensuring sustainable development. They form an integrated framework extending from education to family and community, encompassing all forms of influence. They strive to purify discourse directed at young people from anything that fuels conflict and hatred or incites hostility and racism, while promoting the values of dialogue and tolerance, and establishing the centrality of global peace and social harmony in the future of the world.
These initiatives were formulated with the participation of heads of government and parliaments, UN ambassadors, an elite group of senior religious and intellectual leaders, and several specialized academics.
