Today, H.E. Mr. Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, received H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, at the Presidential Palace in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.

During the meeting, a number of topics of mutual interest at the regional and international levels were discussed. H.E. the President acknowledged the Muslim World League’s global stature as a unified reference point for Islamic peoples. This recognition particularly highlights the MWL's prominent role in building bridges between Islamic schools of thought and sects, as well as its active and influential efforts in confronting Islamophobia. This is recalled in the context of the speech Dr. Al-Issa was honored to deliver in person on behalf of the Islamic peoples, under their unifying umbrella —the MWL—, from the United Nations platform in New York on March 15—a speech requested by the General Assembly for its first commemoration of this occasion.
