Latest NewsOn 19 November 2025, corresponding to 28 Jumada Al-Awwal 1447 AH, the “Charter of Makkah” was celebrated as the first Islamic charter to be honored at the Spanish Senate.
In the presence of its Speaker and a number of its members, the Senate highlighted the Charter’s civilizational principles and commended the role played by the Muslim World League in promoting Islamic values that call for understanding and mutual respect. This contribution seeks to advance peaceful coexistence and civilizational exchange through sustained efforts to build bridges between nations and peoples, grounded in shared human values upon which the international community and its institutions were founded—values that advocate a global civilizational alliance to confront theories and practices of conflict and confrontation.
This took place during the Senate’s hosting of the first religious figure in its history, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars.
