H.E. Mr. Ahmad Muzani, the President of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly, hosted H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, at the Assembly’s headquarters in the capital, Jakarta.
After an extensive dialogue with the President, his deputies, and the heads of committees—covering a number of issues related to the global mission of the MWL—H.E. delivered a lecture addressing the theme of Islamic and human commonalities, and the ways to enhance coexistence and cooperation in countries characterized by religious and ethnic diversity.
He also highlighted the features of Islamic values and their unifying spirit, and praised the Indonesian model, which harmonizes positively with the modern era while proudly retaining its religious identity and preserving the cohesion of its society under the banner of a single national state.
This event was attended by the aforementioned figures, in addition to diverse religious, governmental, and intellectual leaders invited from various regions of Indonesia.
