Al-Zahrawi, connu comme le « père de la chirurgie moderne », était un médecin arabe considéré comme le plus grand chirurgien du Moyen-Âge. Il a été le pionnier d’environ 200 instruments chirurgicaux, dont le scalpel, qui a grandement contribué au progrès médical.
