Pakistan’s National University awarded H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL, an Honorary Doctorate in the Philosophy of International Relations

Earlier today in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, and following the approval of the conferment by the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Pakistan’s National University awarded H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, an Honorary Doctorate in the Philosophy of International Relations.

As stated in the award citation, the honor was conferred in recognition of his global efforts to correct misconceptions about Islam, strengthen Islamic solidarity by refuting narratives of religious and ideological conflict and other forms of extremism, and his sustained and impactful global efforts in promoting dialogue among Islamic schools of thought, religions, and intellectual and cultural currents.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of State for Federal Education, who delivered a welcoming address, the President of the University, members of the University’s leadership and faculty, and a number of members of the diplomatic corps.

It is worth noting that Pakistan’s National University is among the country’s leading public universities. It is affiliated with the Presidency of Pakistan, and its relevant decisions are subject to the approval of the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
