At the MWL headquarters in Makkah,
His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa , Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, welcomed Muhammad Samir Nakshabndy , the Honorable Consul General of the Republic of Iraq in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During the visit, Mr. Naqshbandi delivered an invitation to the Secretary-General from His Excellency Dr. Mishaan Al-Khazraji, the Head of the Sunni Endowment Office in Iraq, for a visit to Iraq to engage with its diverse religious and sectarian communities.
This visit underscores the Muslim World League's status as a major global Islamic beacon, headquartered in Makkah, the unifying Qibla of Muslims. This invitation complements another scholarly invitation from the Honorable President and members of the Iraqi Fiqh Council, representing the supreme reference of the Iraqi Sunni component.
The invitation came in the context of the Islamic nation's need for a unifying and wise discourse, a role embodied by the MWL, which embraces Islamic diversity in all its components, enlightened by its comprehensive message and informed Islamic discourse.
His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa emphasized the Iraqi component, both Sunni and Shia, acknowledging their great scholars, past and present. He highlighted the brotherhood of Islam that unites them and the shared destiny and common goals that bind the nation.
