Foreign Policy Magazine Hosts the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League

Washington:
Foreign Policy magazine hosted a discussion session in Washington, D.C., featuring His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars. The session was attended by the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, CEO, and Publisher, in addition to a distinguished group of religious, intellectual, media, and political figures.

The session featured discussions on a number of issues and topics, particularly those related to religious and intellectual affairs.

While responding to questions addressed to him, His Excellency spoke about the contents of the Charter of Makkah and the distinctive qualities that characterize it. Attendees praised the concept and content of the Charter, which reflect the broad horizons of Islam and embody the tolerance of our noble faith and its values of coexistence with all, in addition to addressing a number of contemporary issues.

The Charter stands among the foremost contemporary religious documents. It was endorsed by more than 1,200 muftis and scholars, while more than 4,500 Muslim intellectuals attended its conference. It was also approved by the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which recommended benefiting from it in religious, educational, and cultural institutions across the Islamic world. In implementation of the OIC’s recommendation, training programs around the world are currently being implemented on the Charter’s principles and content.

The meeting also addressed a number of contemporary international issues in light of the mission and objectives undertaken by the Muslim World League.
