H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa , Secretary-General of the MWL, participated as the guest of honor in the official opening of the symposium “The Role of Religious Leaders in Combating Violence Against Women”
This afternoon in Jeddah, the headquarters of the Organization, in the presence of H.E. Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Humaid, President of the Academy; H.E. Sheikh Dr. Koutoub Sano, Secretary-General of the Academy; and a number of senior muftis and scholars:
H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa , Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, participated as the guest of honor in the official opening of the symposium “The Role of Religious Leaders in Combating Violence Against Women,” organized by the International Islamic Fiqh Academy of the OIC.
The symposium aims to define the concept of violence against women and set out the relevant Islamic guidelines, identify its forms, causes, and effects, correct misconceptions related to certain Islamic texts, and strengthen the role of religious leaders in preventing and addressing it.
