On September 2, 2025, corresponding to 10 Rabi‘ al-Awwal 1447 AH, the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, saw the launch of the first Global Forum on the Authentication of Qur’anic Ijazahs. The event was organized by the Muslim World League and brought together a distinguished group of senior scholars from ASEAN countries, specialists in Qur’anic sciences and recitation (iqra’), as well as thousands of male and female memorizers of the Qur’an from Southeast Asia.
During the forum, the “Global Certification for the Accreditation of Qur’anic Ijazahs” was launched, based on a precise methodology and a well-structured system. In its first edition, it was awarded to ten certified memorizers who met the standards of review and verification. In addition, a number of pioneers in Qur’anic recitation from ASEAN countries were honored in recognition of their contributions to building generations firmly grounded in the Qur’an upon a path of moderation and balance.
